Resolution: 1. A firm decision to do or not to do something. 2. A formal expression of opinion or intention agreed on by a legislative body, committee, or other formal meeting, typically after taking a vote. 3. The action of solving a problem, dispute, or contentious matter.
Why does doing this on one particular day a year make the goal impossible?
If the intended goal is so important, a particular date should not determine the validity of it.
A New Year’s goal is intended to give a person a blank slate to start working on improving themselves.
It seems like there is always something to improve: body, habits, mind, and soul. All of these things are important, but it all boils down to perseverance and whether your goal is important enough to make a habit.
It takes twenty eight days to make a habit and working on more than one habit at a time lengthens the amount of time it takes to make something a habit.
What is important enough to take twenty eight days and teasing from half the people you know?
I haven’t decided yet, so maybe a New Year’s resolution isn’t the best for me, but the purpose of the resolution is not lost on me.
