October Baby for a September Girl

It  is no secret that my sisters and I are all adopted. In fact our entire family celebrates the fact. Every so often a movie will come out on adoption, abortion, and the decisions or circumstances of the women. When I was fifteen, Bella came out. The true story of a soccer player who saves a woman’s baby and adopts the little girl.  It will always be one of my favorite movies even though I only watched it once. October Baby will be the same way.

Both had beautiful heart wrenching stories about love and sacrifice. Because of the subject matter, knowing many people still look at adoption with a stigma and many have closed their eyes to the truth about abortion, I end up crying for long periods of time. Every life is beautiful and precious. My mom could have aborted instead of braving adoption and, if you were born after Roe v. Wade, your mom made a decision for life too. In the words of Dr. Seuss, “a person is a person, no matter how small.”
